Beardsley Zoo

​Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is dedicated to acquainting a diverse public to the delicate balance that exists between living things and their environment. Animal exhibits, plantings, graphics, and Zoo programs are to be represented in such a manner as to give the visitor a sense of awareness and concern for the intricate beauty and fragility of our planet.

Volunteer information: Zoo volunteers are an integral part of the Zoo, contributing their time and energy to the Zoo’s education and environmental mission. Whether it is going out on Zoomobiles with the Zoo Educators, talking to visitors, caring for the Zoo grounds, or helping out with the animals, our volunteers make a difference to both our visitors and the staff.

Aspetuck Land Trust

Founded in 1966, Aspetuck Land Trust is a non-profit membership organization. Our mission is to protect land forever and connect people to the natural world. Since 1966, Aspetuck Land Trust has preserved over 2,200 acres of land that will be maintained in a natural state in perpetuity. And since 2020 we have protected 260 acres of land!

Volunteer information: We invite you to join the more than 1,700 member supporters of Aspetuck Land Trust who are rolling up their sleeves with us to save land. You can help maintain our properties, research potential gifts, publicize our efforts, and so much more. All kinds of talents are needed. We would love to hear from you with any questions, suggestions, and interests you may have.

Volunteer information: Join us in welcoming our many visitors and help them experience our wonderful world of nature, agriculture, museum exhibitions and art.
